About Mad Dogg Athletics, Inc.

Mad Dogg Athletics®, Inc. was founded in 1994 in by Johnny G and John Baudhuin—CPAs, MBAs, and avid cyclists. Mad Dogg created the indoor cycling phenomenon with Spinning®, and for the past 25 years we’ve not only continued to deliver expert engineering innovation to our Spinner® bikes, but also the best instructors in the world to studio classes in 80 different countries at more than 35,000 facilities.

Since 1998 with Spinning® and 2009 with Peak Pilates®, we’ve offered education programs in order to certify, train, and empower our expert instructors all around the world, and Our programs are comprehensive, building strong, safe, and fun teaching techniques that integrate essential principles of balance, strength, stamina, power, and flexibility. Since we’ve been a part of the Venice community since we opened our corporate doors decades ago, there was no question when it came to deciding where to open our new, comprehensive fitness studio.

We are thrilled to bring these brands to life in a dedicated storefront, and we can’t wait for it to become your second home, too.

John R. Baudhuin, President and CEO

John R. Baudhuin is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Dogg Athletics. Prior to founding Mad Dogg Athletics in 1994, Baudhuin worked as a certified public accountant for Los Angeles-based Duitch, Franklin & Company, where he provided a variety of consulting and strategic planning services. An active member of the Young Presidents Organization, Baudhuin received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his MBA from Loyola Marymount University.

John Cook, VP of Industrial Design

John Cook has extensive professional design experience that spans more than 25 years. A large part of his career was spent at BMW Designworks USA, where he designed products for a wide array of clients including Microsoft, Nokia, Kyocera, MCI, Diamond Back Racing and Star Trac, as well as in-house work with BMW and Mini. John’s fitness industry design experience includes a tenure at Star Trac, where he did the industrial design for the Spinner NXT and Spinner Blade. He has also received many patents and international design awards including the IDEA, Good Design, ID magazine and Red Dot. Cook received a B.A. with a specialty in Industrial Design from Cal State University, Northridge. John currently lives in Ventura, California with his wife, two daughters, two dogs, ten bikes and one well used Spinner NXT.

Our flagship location is located on 245 Main St in Venice, CA, and we’re easy to get to: members show up for class on bikes, the bus, or in cars (and everyone leaves with the same high!).

Parking is located in the building off Navy St. Rates are $2 for 2 hours, or $2.50 for 2.5 hours, with validation.
